Glazing for Commercial Buildings

With Architects creating some breath taking buildings now days glazing is normally a big part of any build and glazing has moved on from the old days where clear glass was the only option. Glazing can can be very challenging and this one sticks in my mind as one of the more challenging ones and I feel as if I aged while going through this job. We were asked to change a double glazed unit clear on the inside and with a tint on the outside approximately 1000mm X 1700mm, the unit in situ had a pretty much straight crack running horizontally and with the building just over a year old this was probably down to building movement and the glass being a bit tight when fitted within the gap. We had to remove the glass canopy to be able to remove the Brise Soleil vertical fins which then allowed us to get to the glazed unit that needed replacing, this ended up being a mammoth job and one I will remember.
