Window repairs whether it be on UPVC windows or Aluminium windows are now quite a common job for us and we see more and more issues with friction style hinges with the tell tail sign of a set that needs replacing when the hinge side starts to pop out leaving a gap between window and frame and stopping the window either from opening and closing properly or not locking. The other issues we come across is window locking systems, now days windows tend to have a centre window lock / gearbox which attaches to a shoot-bolt system that has 2 extra points of locking at each end of the window and when these shoot-bolts come away from the centre gearbox that shoots the bolts which is normally in the locked position and in the middle of summer when you really need to be able to open the window that is when we get a call to come and help. The last issue we come across is the good old window handle not working
