Window winding gear is a great solution for high level windows along with standard height windows in Schools, Hospitals, Care Homes and Commercial building. The high level solution obviously speaks for it's self but we also find that winding gear is a great solution for standard hight windows in Schools, Hospitals and Care Homes as you can open multiple windows on one winder and they also act as a restrictor limiting the window to either a 250mm or 400mm opening and with this being a non motorised electrical solution it ticks the boxes for building regs when it comes to low level windows as the opening action is done by hand rotating a lever handle so there is no need for an emergency cut off if hands got caught in the window opening like if you were to have an electrical operator. A typical system consists of a manual opener which is fitted to the vent or window and linked via lengths of cable and conduit to a wall-mounted operator or window winder.
